i5 4460 & MSI GTX 750 Ti OR MSI GTX 950 OC

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

the 950 is better in every scenario except one:

when you dont have a 6-pin power connector available, the 750ti is pretty much the best you can get.

Hi,

I've been wondering which graphics card is better: MSI GTX 750 Ti -- OR -- MSI GTX 950 OC Edition.

http://www.fnac.pt/mp1095259/MSI-GeForce-GTX-750Ti-GAMING vs https://www.pcdiga.com/2/20437/Grafica-MSI-GTX-950-Armor-2GD5T-OC-GTX-950-2GD5T-OC

I'll be playing games like GTA 5 (Medium to High), Minecraft with shaders (Medium to High)... etc

Thanks in advance.

950 is better but I urge you to wait for the RX 470. Honestly, Maxwell is not worth at this point in time

don, seriously, are you ever gonna not recommend amd over nvidia?

at least give OP an expected release time if you're gonna try to twist his/her mind.

CX430 is not meant for a 120W 950 ._. - the heat won't be nice to it.

i'm actually considering buying one of the blue label CX's before they are entirely replaced by the white label CX's, and see if they're really the horror story people make them out to be...

now, if OP decides to wait 2-3 weeks thats something to consider, if OP wants his/her system now, that's not an option.

tbh, i'd rather go an 8GB 390 at this point, especially with OP mentioning GTA V, which really likes its vram.

and implying OP likes the GTA series, who knows what horrendous vram hog GTA VI will be :P

EDIT: and implying GTA V is a console port, and consoles run AMD, i guess that cant hurt either ;)

More VRAM is always better than not enough VRAM :D

Not long honestly - unlike Pascal yields are better with smaller dies and the RX family thus far.

we cant tell what the future will hold, for all we know tomorrow AMD will have to announce their fab labs caught fire.

while that's hilareously unlikely, there's just factors we dont have in our control :P
