DualShock 4 will work with Windows for 'basic functions'

When asked on Twitter if Sony would release a driver for the DualShock 4 to make it compatible with Windows PCs, Yoshida tweeted back, "the analog sticks and buttons will work just fine." When pressed if this meant the controller would feature Windows compatibility by default, Yoshida responded it would, for "basic functions." What those functions are remains to be seen.

Looks like PC gamers are getting more control choices this year and next. Hopefully this uses xinput.

Basic functions?

I guess that just means all the buttons and crap will work, but not the touch screen stuff and maybe not the share button for obvious reasons (at least not the way they will for the ps4)

Will stick with my 360 controller for now though.

It's served me well over the years.

Probably means you won't be able to use the touchscreen or share button, everything else will work.

Neat. I still have a wired MW2 edition 360 controller (digital camo and sweet green backlit joysticks :P). I'll be using it until it dies, but I'll have to consider the DS4 if that does happen.

I find myself enjoying NFS Shift alot and I would like to play gta 5 too

Gta 5 isn't a racing game though, and I prefer mouse and keyboard for that.

I really only like forza and gran turismo for driving games, anything else I tried wasn't really my thing

NFS Rivals uses the Dual shock 4 on the loading screen with a controller layout.

I also don't understand why microsoft are saying the xbox one controller won't work with PC strait away. At the game play demo for NFS Rivals for PC I was using and Xbox One controller. So unless EA are using their own driver or it just works with the default one I don't know.

I think they said that to cover they bases if the new features added to the controller break support with older game/does not work on PC; something like the trigger rumble and such.

I would love to go back to the old days where they were about a gazillion controller maker for pc. Saitek, Thrustmaster, Logitech and such. You had a controller for every occasion and every genre. I still own a Saitek P750. http://wernerson.de/_MG_7724.jpg

It seems like Yoshida is a little stupid. I mean, he obviously didn't understand the question. And of course it will work, everything's possible on the almighty pc

I personally don't enjoy 9-string guitars, but that doesn't change the fact that they look awesome as hell!

gta is sort of in between, because some parts are better with a controller, but when you're in a mission and don't want to miss any shots you need a keyboard

it depends for who.  I'm absolutely useless at anything with a controller except driving games.  for me a controller doesn't work for gta games
