Unnecessary Purchases

There's been multiple occasions where I've managed to convince myself to buy something that I don't need. Hopefully I'm not the only one who does this..

 

What are some of the most unnecessary tech purchases you've made? I'll start.

 

My damn Apple Watch. I just use it for notifications if anyone texts/calls me, that's it. I barely even use it as a watch because 9 times out of 10 my phone is sat on the desk next to me and I'll instinctively just use that to check the time.

my 4770K. I traded it with a guy who had a 4770 so I can use the vt-d extensions to build something like wendell from teksyndicate did for gpu passthrough on a linux system

My Dell Venue 8 Pro, x86 windows tablet. I never use it.
Told myself I'd use it to play/read things like visual novels on it. Found out it's so low power that it cannot even launch most visual novels, only the old ones that are essentially made for Windows xp and prior.

My plasma ball, 2 full size 200cc racing karts and a bunch of tools to mod them (welders etc)

A lot. You wouldn't believe the sheer amount of cables like Micro USB's / HDMI's etc it's insane. My Apple Watch, iPad/TV etc are probably my most expensive items that get used the least I just either use a laptop instead cause it's easier or don't have time to use the likes of the TV's

Back in the early 2000's, possibly late 90's; I had a telephone that was basically a headset that you wore on your head and you dialed it with a remote control.

Oh unnecessary tech purchases. Well just about all of them like my new 980 Ti SLI and 6850k, but I did think my CPU was broken. Now I'll just be sent back my old CPU and have to eBay it.
