The bubble is manufactured.  It is designed to squeeze commodities out of the public hands.  It creates a cycle despair and relief, over and over.  People stress and conglomerates reap the rewards.  The wealth is consolidated by a small number of groups.  Money is not the end game for them.  The game is the game for them.  While everyone else needs to literally eat.

It's manufactured indeed. But I think more because most countries are so deeply indebted that they could not even pay the interest on their debt anymore. As a result, their central banks started buying their own debt with new money, which lowers rates. It also causes lots of speculators/investors to frontrun the central banks. (Buying the bonds to unload them to the central bank at a higher price later), driving rates even lower.

 

It off course also lowers the value of the currency, which is seen by many politicians (wrongly imo) as a good side-effect as it boosts exports. When a few countries do this, others have to follow because their currencies are now to strong to compete. The result is the allout currency wars we're in.

What he says at the end, makes sense. When television/radio was invented, congress failed to take into account how important those technologies would be in "the national debate". The same thing is currently happening with the internet.

 

The internet, presents the possibility to have fairly instant debates and elections, instantaneous information. But we have morons in charge, who don't understand just how important this technology will be.

it doesn't surround around one guy imo, Democracy can become dictatorship driven too(around a skewed ideology), it's this idea that just "one man/woman"is  corrupt & everything will become all right  if we remove him/her , it's not going to do anything except temporary false sense of peace , and more yet 'we did something for change' mentality will calm people down some time,

 

see how many people went into the streets supporting the president? , right or wrong will depend on your own political views, but in a true democracy , an elected individual has to have the last call , in the end an ideology driven mob mentality in an event, even if 51% of the people could be wrong & the "democracy oriented" people can agree on stamping the other 49% to be wrong

It's a shame, a lot of political figures start with good intentions then ruin it drastically by doing something silly. Unfortunately, the likes of wars etc just end up causing more trouble than they're worth. Only time will really be able to tell but based on the Media there does appear to be a fair amount of support for him in your country and lets hope it doesn't go down that route because Iraq was a fantastic country at the time but that ended badly. 

 

I'm still waiting for the day that everyone just gets along without starting wars.

The same bullshit is still used today. Look at china, where the government structurally keeps the value of the yuan low to stay a export superpower, all under the ruse to 'create jobs'. The result is that chinese ppl work all day in factories making washing machines, televisions, laptops and so on, only to have those things exported to us because we can outbid them with our strong currencies (compared to the yuan). For them, these are useless jobs, and it's what's keeping most of them poor. You can clearly see something is wrong when the guy building washing machines all day has to do his own wash in a river manually.

 

Run far and fast from all the do-gooders claiming factory owners need to pay their chinese workers more. That is NOT the problem. The problem is a perpetually weak currency by the actions of their own government - to 'create jobs'.

I don't think it's as simple as just work or leisure. Some people like money/leisure sure, but a huge factor is that people like to know that their life has meaning, purpose and that they're useful. Socialism, as much as people will say that it's bad for reasons like personal freedom or competition, I can't deny that it represents its own face of human nature and values.

 

Laissez faire systems also represent a face of human nature. Personally not one that I agree with or would like to see prevail. Personal liberties are praised while at the same time the system of competition allowed results in individuals who find ways to abuse the competition to keep others from succeeding by either killing you in the marketplace or paying off the politicians who grant you those personal liberties so that their interests come first resulting in there being no competition or personal liberties after all.

I don't think ppl feel purpose and meaning in makeshift work. If they do it's because most don't realize they're doing makeshift work.

 

A laissez faire system where you can bribe politicians is not a laissez faire system. In a true laissez faire system politicians don't have the power to benefit anyone at the expense of another. From the moment they do, it's no longer laissez faire.

 

I don't really see what you mean by 'killing you in the market place'. The only thing you can do in such a system is offer a better product at a price your customers willingly pay.

What an arse he is, it's barbaric to have a death penalty against any crime. In this country, politicians are laughed at for having such beliefs.
