Are 34" 1080p ultrawide monitors worth it?

HotDiggityDaffodil

I'm thinking about getting a ultrawide monitor, but my budget limits me to 1080p. Are 34" monitors too big for 1080p? Would a 29" look better?

If you're going more than 29" might as well get the 1440p. I think 29" 1080p is sweet spot and so is 1440p for 34".

P.S. LG 29" 21:9 Ultrawide  is like what, $200 on best buy?

For gaming - no. For productivity, yes. Though I wouldn't go 34" if you're still on 1080p. That's 1440p to 4K area.

For gaming 34'' is definitely nice, for productivity it always depends on the job. To open a single Word file it is definitely too much, but it allows you to have two or three pages next to each other and maintain a readable font size which can be handy.
