Hello,

There's the 550W version, and the 650W version. I was thinking of getting the 650W to make sure that if I upgrade at all I'm safe. Will this use up more electricity? Is it worse than the 550W (components changed slightly?)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNova-Fully-Modular-Supply/dp/B0141B21JG?ie=UTF8&tag=pcp0f-21

My computer specs:

CPU: i7 3770k

GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC

RAM: 16GB

PSU: Corsair VS 450W

Thanks,

Oli

A PC will only consume as much power as it needs.

In what sense? The "650W" or "550W" is the limit to these PSUs. However, how much they use while under load is entirely dependent on how much your PC itself pulls from the wall. The wattage of your rig itself determines how much more power it uses.

alright, so for £5 more 100W more is a good idea.

Yes, I mean for that little of a price difference, you might as well. If only for peace of mind, you know?

I paid $95 for my RM750, when the RM650 was $90.

EVGA has better quality components than Corsair's VS.

GPUs are getting more efficient so 550w should be enough.

If u want to SLI  then 650w should be enough.

Yeah, I'm going single but I might as well get 100W more for £5 just incase of future upgrades.

The efficiency might be slightly different, but otherwise, no.

I checked the model number, and they seem to be different? On newegg its slightly cheaper, so I'm a bit confused at the model number changing at the end from "Y3" to "Y1"?

edit: nevermind didn't realise newegg only sell from US, so the shipping is like £50 I'll just go with the amazon link.

£100 for my AX860 while RM650x is £90 :P

To OP, if prices are practically the same, get the bigger one.

Needs money for car parts :P
