Ok so essentially, I have been using the same Tesla 500w for a year until the other day I bought FarCry 4 and I was playing it, then the next thing a know a huge BANG and a light flashes out the PSU and smells of burnt silicon. I opened it to discover that the transformer (230v-12v) had exploded.

I then reached out to a friend who gave me a Kloner 500w also, I stupidly played FarCry 4 again and the PC powered off again, this time without a bang or light it just stopped. It would not turn back on, but however the LED's on the Motherboard were still on.

I don't know, what to do?

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX 8120 3.89 GHz
MoBo: Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0
GPU: nVidia GTX 660

You can stop putting shitty PSUs in your system, that would help out drastically. You may have killed your motherboard.

EDIT: The Fractal Tesla is not the issue but the PSU that you replaced it with, for the record.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

You could put in a reputable company's PSU into the system and see if the same crap keeps happening, and if it does (highly unlikely), you could pop it open and see which rail failed......

TL:DR put in a psu from a reputable brand (Like Corsair or Silverstone)

He only wrote "Tesla" so I implied that it was the brand not the product name xD. Because Tesla is a PSU brand apparently https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tesla-Silent-Operation-Power-Supply/dp/B008KKVTYS
