Malwarebytes is a great tool for doing a scan.  It's different from traditional AVs as it doesn't run constantly in the background, protecting you and hogging resources.  It's truly an "on-demand" scanner.

Hey everyone. So I've built my own pc recently, and I noticed over the days that most of the time when I go to shutdown my pc, it gets stuck in the blue screen displaying a shutting down (as well as restarting) loop. It's running windows 10, and I end up having to force it to shutdown by holding the power button. However, I feel like this may cause issues with the pc as I am forcing it to shutdown immediately without properly turning off. Any suggestions to allow my computer to turn off properly through windows 10?

There must be a program that isn't shutting down properly, try checking task manager for process and see what pops.

How long does it sit there for?  When you say stuck, how long have you waited for it to finish properly?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

What exact message is it displaying when you try to shut it down? Have you installed all of your drivers and updates since it's a fresh build? Also how long have you let it try to sort it out itself before intervening?

I've waited for up to about 10 minutes in the shutting down screen. And a few times the screen even goes away but the pc still stays on.

That's definitely not normal then... I thought it might just be Fast Startup causing it to have to write RAM to disk before turning off but it wouldn't take that long.  Are there updates or downloads pending?  Have you installed all the proper drivers?  Have you installed any odd programs that could be creating a conflict?  Have you run a virus scan recently to rule that out?

It's like the image below. I've installed all the drivers that I believe are necessary, like cpu, gpu, asus motherboard, and wifi adapter drivers. I've waited for up to about 10 minutes.

Do you happen to have a Logitech wireless mouse?

for anti virus eset is good i think its 30 or 90 free trial . try disconnecting the Ethernet cable from the back of the pc  before you shut down . if it does shutdown  then something is talking still when you have internet . . i aim at microsoft updates . try  unplug all usb's if the network doesnt do anything .all  except for the mouse if it shuts down then one of them is causing it to get stuck . then just plug one in at at time shut down and repeat till you find the one .

this is the last thing i would try if you have another ssd or hdd format windows on to it and see if it acts right if it does then something is borked in the windows install . disconnect the windows drive before installing with  a different hdd

I believe it worked. It detected something called driveragentplus, which I did happen to install before to help me with downloading drivers. It didn't help, but I thought I deleted it. It helped delete the files that were left and I think it works properly now. Thanks for your help :)
