2xRX480 or GTX 1070?

Hello guys so i'm trying to decide whether I should get 1 GTX 1070 or 2 AMD RX480. Please consider in mind the disadvantages of crossfire and also the speeds of the cards. Thanks in advanced

Always go with the single fastest, which in this case the 1070.

even if thats true, Multi GPU support is spotty at best. Many titles have scaling issues with Multi GPU setups and can cause issues.

There's very, very few instances where two RX 480s match a GTX 1080 in performance. For the most part, you'd be looking at GTX 1070 performance and below.

480s are faster than a 1070 when in CF. OP wasn't talking about the 1080.

If you want more stable performance - 1070. If you want MORE power - 480s

When OP said that two RX 480s are 30% faster than a GTX 1070, that's putting it roughly at GTX 1080 performance.

Even then, the downfalls of Crossfire outweigh the positives. I'd rather get a single GTX 1070 with 8GB of VRAM instead of two RX 480 8GBs which will cost even more despite the inflated prices of the GTX 1070.

Again - depends on what you need them for. Have you considered any compute work? A single 480 can match the 1070 in compute performance, especially OpenCL. If the OP is Using Sony Vegas, for instance, he'd be getting better results with 1 480 than 1 1080. It all depends on the appliactions
