Upgrade from my GTX 980 Extreme

killianz26

Hi all, I was wondering what you guys think about this. I currently have a Gigabyte GTX 980 Extreme Gigabyte GTX 980 Extreme,

I would like to upgrade to a GTX 1070, do you think there will be a noticeable difference? I game a 1080p with a BENQ 27 inch 144 Hz monitor. I do like to Max out settings so for example I have Overwatch maxed out and can get 60fps minimum, I am looking to pickup Battlefield 1 and next gen games going forward.

Is it a worthwhile upgrade? Should I just get a gtx 1080?

The rest of the system specs are a Gigabyte GA-Z170-Gaming 3 and I5 6500 with a Seasonic SSR 650 PSU 16gb of memory.

Thank you for any advice

Save for the 1080. Going from a[n overclocked] 980 to a [FE]1070 would be little more than a sidegrade in most non-VR games. The price wouldn't justify it. The 1080 on the other hand would offer a much more noticeable difference.

It was originally a "budget oriented build"  I had a Sandy Bridge setup for 5 years and never really over clocked it. So i went with the 6500 this time.
