Power Consumption

Hi,

 

I'm planning to buy a gaming PC which uses around 223W. Is that much? Will my parents pay too much in the end of the month? Just curious :7...

I'm planning to use the PC for around 5~5:30h a day. My Power supply will be a Corsair 550W VS ATX PSU.

It won't pull that much all the time. It will probably idle around 60w and pull less than 5w when sleeping. Per year its probably less than 40 dollars a year.

Lets assume 250 Watts/hr.

That's equal to roughly $5/month in electricity at $0.12 per kWh or about $0.16/day

Nope, and depending on the cost of electricity in the area it could be even cheaper so I doubt they will even notice it on the bill.

Unless you live in Ontario or somewhere else where power costs a fortune it will be fine. My PC consumes 400 watts full tilt and the cost per year is low.
