You are 100% ok to look at it for 8+ hours. I have never gotten eye strain from my Vive and it feels like you are looking through the screen.

The cancer part is fake but I thought it might hurt eye sight. So I went to our local eye doctor and asked him. He said since they have focusing lenses it isn't any different then looking at a computer screen. You are fine

It's funny to say, but the vision was what I was most worried about. Looking at a computer screen for a prolonged period of time does degrade your eyesight unless you have some rather interesting habits that no one follows.

You are 100% ok to look at it for 8+ hours. I have never gotten eye strain from my Vive and it feels like you are looking through the screen.
