My pc was working fine last night, my pc boots up usually after 10 seconds but today it's taking forever to load. I got it to work (thank god) and now I'm backing up my files, but the weird thing i found in the task manager is that it seems to be stuck at 50-99% and it's fluctuating so bad. What seems to be the problem? And what cam i do? Also, everything seems super slow....

See what processes are slowing it down, that will give us more insight.

It might be malware, but that is at question.

This is what I have so far. As you can see, disk usage is crazy high for an ssd without any activity.

check for and install windows updates, and leave your PC running for a few days

the disk usage should go back down to 0 when its done whatever its doing

if it doesnt stop after a few days then you probably need to clean install

From what I can tell that's a core windows service, try an admin cmd prompt and enter  Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
if the service is malfunctioning that should fix it, might also run chkdsk as well, if neither of those work then try to wait it out or reinstall

does it happen every time you boot now?

sometimes its a one time thing

if you notice it happening every time then something is wrong

just make sure you're not rebooting while the disk usage is high, because then you're interrupting whatever widows is doing in the background

and sometimes that just makes it take longer to go away

I would honestly check to make sure you have it set up for AHCI and not IDE. IDE mode fucks boot times in the ass. Bare.

Just got back from the univ. Ugh classes.. Anyways it's always been in AHCI, it's been working fine since december it just started to shit on me today. So apparently, it's working fine now but I get sudden spikes to 50% disk usage then goes down after a while. What's causing this? I haven't had this problem since today,
