New CPU PC keeps rebooting

I've just installed a i7 3770 and now my PC keeps rebooting, the monitor is also not getting any signal. I've changed all the fans and they're all running, I've also reseated the ram and the heatsink

I think you'll need to do a bios update for it to work.

Like I said, You'll need to do an update for your BIOS.

no, Z77 is made for Ivy Bridge. If he had an Z68 he'd need a BIOS update.

Have you done a CMOS reset with the 3770? I'd do that. But while you have the 2500 installed you can just aswell make a BIOS update too.

I currently have the bios version 2204, the latest is 2501. But there was a 0312 bios update in 2013 which added support for the CPU I am trying to install, shall I just flash the latest BIOS?

I haven't took out the battery no, and nope it doesn't even reach the bios, the monitor has no signal for some reason. And It is, the seller said he fully tested the CPU

Nope it's plugged directly to my 280x, I'm using a dvi to HDMI cable and that worked fine with the i5. I also have a dvi cable, tried it with that and the Sam problem
