Wait for a custom rx 480 that has a better pcb, with 2 6pins or an 8pin, it would solve the power draw issues being talked about.

@AresKrieger
IMO a six pin should be plenty as most power supplies are more than capable of providing over 75 watts on the six pin connection.  Heck most 8 pin connectors from power supplies are just six wires with short leads to jump two wires to four pins on one side.  I think that the people having issues are likely using older power supplies that adhere to the 75 watt six pin standard and people using six plus two that are 150 watt standard over six pins will have no issues.
Otherwise - no amount of additional power pins are going to solve the problem.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

I'm not sure, sapphire usually comes out with custom cards fairly quickly so maybe a week or two, but I'll see if anyone else posted info on any tech site

The point is to make sure the power doesn't go through the pcie slot, not to give it more power necessarily

2 6 pins = 150W

1 8 pin = 150W

*cough*

And price of 1060 is what?

It's going to be around 250-300, the 480 is still a fine card I'm just trying to make sure people don't buy the reference model which has power and thermal issues due to the cooler and 6pin power input

8GB reference model does nothing really over the 4GB card.

Looks fine. Just make sure you get a custom 480 with an 8 pin connector.
