Will a 300 Watt power supply get the job done with a i7 6700 and GTX 960?

I have a GTX 745 & a i7 6700 but only a 300 watt power supply.

What brand is the PSU? I wouldn't trust it. So that's a no from me.

I have not opened the computer, its for a friend, it is an HP but I don't know the power supply.

Hold up, What is the current CPU in his PC? If he wants the i7 then he'll need a new motherboard

It's enough in terms of rated wattage, however 300W in a prebuilt PC is often an exaggeration. I'd get a new PSU. A Corsair CX450M isn't crazy expensive and would work much better for you.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

No, there is an i7 6000 with a GTX 745.

He won't be able overclock the CPU in the first place because the PC is from HP.

HP motherboards use proprietary power connectors that only their PSUs have.
