Hey guys. I just got a gtx 1070 g1 gaming from gigabyte, and I noticed the 3rd fan to the right was hitting the plastic shroud when I spun it with my finger. A few times it would stop, and the rest of times it would create clicking noises. Obviously I don't hear this when the pc is idle because of the fan stop thing, but when it is under load, it is audible. It's not loud, but it's not inaudible. What do you guys think? Should I RMA it? Would newegg even allow me to return it? Any suggestions? Please let me know.

I don't know if they would take it as an RMA but I would find it annoying, if you want to see the return policy it should be present with your electronic receipt, if I'm remembering correctly. If not just go to newegg and look for their return policy in the customer support section, but it may take a while to get another one due to supply if you do decide to RMA or return it to newegg.

I would see if you could RMA it if it is indeed the fan contacting the shroud, that's basically a manufacturing defect. If not, time to bring out the dremel.

Check the inside of the fan blades in and around the shroud to make sure there is not anything touching it. I was about to RMA my 970 before I found out that there was a small wire barely touching the blade.

I looked at it closer again, and there is a wirelike thing underneath which the fan was hitting. All it needed was a slight push down and now it is flawless :)
