I'm about to make nas. Will it work better with a thunderbolt when it come to my gaming? If so, what mother board should I get?

Also im getting the z107 ASUS with the thunderbolt add on for $70. Will this make my storage easy to access, and make my gaming PC better?

Shouldn't need thunderbolt for a NAS. Get a solid nic for both systems and that is about all you need. Either way, it will be slower than an hdd. So basically, save programs like games that you intend to frequently access on your main system.

What are you using this nas for. You can't use thunderbolt for network unless you have 2 macs. Id personally suggest buying a synology nas for about 250 with 4 hdd bays, but if you want to build your own, just buy a cheap motherboard.

Thank you!!! I'm new to this. Just been doing research, thought I could put all my pictures and vids on it. I have tons of family pics & vids. But thank you, I think I'll just put a WD red 3tb in my gaming PC. Than find something for my family photos and vids
