I'm on my previous machine, an 3570k and for some reason the difference in temp from my first core to my last core is 10 degree's C at idle.  This is a second and different AIO and different thermal compound, but just yesterday I had the same issue on the last cooler.  Any thoughts? I haven't put it under load yet but why would one core run that much hotter than another?

a quick loading of folding at home and it's the same at load, I watch resource monitor at idle and no one core is getting worked harder than another.  Do I need to delid this cpu and change the tim?

That would most likely fix your issue if you're prepared to void the warranty. My CPU isn't the best either and I get 6C variation sometimes but I just don't think it's worth the risk of delidding.

I wouldn't do it on my new cpu for the very same reason.  I've had this one for a while so I'm not to worried about it.  Also I'm afraid I'll end up hurting myself in the process ><  Honestly I don't remember if it had that drastic of a difference before, I didn't run temps after I clocked it and burned it in so who knows how long it's been like this.  Also my clock seams a little low, could of swore I got it to 4.4 but when I booted into bios it was 4.2

ok so I just got my main rig running again with a custom loop and it's doing the same thing.  Core's 0,2,4 are 20c hotter than cores 1,3,5 when running prime95

What's the deal? I used that coolabratory TIM on both.  Did I apply it wrong? Not sure what's going on here
