I'm planning on getting a Vive after I get a 490. I plan on developing a game for it.

I was really excited for VR, but now that I'm seeing some of the games and reviews I think I'll wait until it's a bit more polished and established.

i wish i had a newer phone so i could use a google cardboard and be able to watch youtube vids in a virtual reality. I would totally just immerse myself in a movie or something if i could put my phone into a vr headset. Especially now that youtube allows you to switch to vr mode using a button.

I've got a Rift CV1 and its doing alright with my R9 290. Most games are alright, but once I get the cash I am interested in upgrading to a 1080 or 490, since supersampling is so helpful for increasing the perceived resolution of games.

I've mainly been playing Elite Dangerous on it, honestly one of the best gaming experiences I've had.

Flying around space with my two joysticks, watching stars zip past, I've even got Voice Attack and a voice pack so I can have William Shatner respond to my voice commands and drop the landing gear for me, or jump me to the next system.

I'd recommend everyone to give it a try at least, either Rift or Vive, but maybe not for everyone to buy quite yet.

If you can try Vive really. Oculus with Touch will be great, but Vive has them both right now so its a different experience.

I bought it since I've been following it for years, but to drop all the cash right now for everyone I think would be a bad idea.

VR is still in its infancy right now so I think some would be disappointed with the number of games or the price of it and the games, quality of headset etcetc.

Its certainly going to be amazing in a few years time though when we can push harder and have more tech to push.

I can answer any other questions if people care?

I wait for better Games and a price drop. 900€ for the Vive is ridiculous.

I've had my Rift a couple of weeks. While I don't think it's currently 'changed gaming forever', there are some games I couldn't go back to without VR; mainly Simulators. FSX with Flyinside installed is incredible. I've actually had a lesson in a Cessna 172 and sat in a piper. The feeling in the rift is spot on. Most importantly, you can move your view from runway, to speed, to vertical speed back to runway, effortlessly. I can look round the nose of the aircraft if I need too.

Project cars is again another game that massively benefits. Sure, the lower resolution is a bit of a come down from my 4K monitor, but being able to judge distance and look right into an apex even when it's over 90 degrees to the side of your car, is invaluable.

Ive attached a link to my project cars video on YouTube. I may upload more games soon. Don't expect much in the way of commentary though as I don't like the sound of my voice recorded. Lol
