Ok, so I was wondering what you guys thought of this idea. Basically there is a country that wants to replace the roads with hexagonal, modular, solar panels that will replace tarmac. Its made out of glass, and the components are laminated. If you want all the information about it watch this video from YouTube.

Who knows, maybe one day your driveway will power your computer.

OK, populism is the only answer to this. I simply can't believe any politician would be that stupid.

These solar (FREAKING!) roadways were debunked years ago

Wow, i guess it was 2 years ago....

But yeah, so many problems with them. Are the lights bright enough to see in day?
Melting snow- wouoldent that use a ton of energy?
Parking lots- Cars cover most of the stuff, except at night, when there is no sun.

Slipperyness- water wont sink into it like pavement

wobbly tiles- Tiles will woblle over time, just like a patio

Wiring lenth

Don't forget that roads are super dirty and grimey. The effectiveness of the solar panels would also be less because of the thick, textured glass on top of it. It's an idea that set itself up for failure.
