Can be any (for school, gaming not needed)

needs to be slim, and light

Please provide an Amazon link, thanks :)

  1. Where are you taking your laptop? Are you going to every class with it or only one class and once each week? It will be in my backpack everyday I leave home.
  2. What apps are you going to be using? Just MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) or are you using specific applications? MS Office and browsing
  3. What is your budget? (This is the most important question) Unlimited.
  4. How thin are you talking? MacBook Air thin, Razer Blaze thin, or Lenovo Y500 thin? Just something portable and light, something that wont break my back while walking around school.
  5. Do you care about style? Do you prefer a non-flashy black/silver/white look or do you want something colorful and vibrant? It doesn't matter to me.
  6. What operating system do you need? Do you prefer Windows 7 or 8? Do you have any applications that require OSX/Other? Any.
  7. Out of more storage but slow storage, or less storage but fast storage, which do you prefer? SSD is a must.
  8. Will you be using this for anything but school/light web browsing and whatnot at home? Maybe editing music and videos.
  9. Which country do you live in where you will be buying this? US of A

Now when you say unlimited, do you literally mean unlimited or do you actually have a budget of like $5000? I'm not saying that you neseccarily should go that high, but I'm just saying you could get a pretty speedy laptop for an unlimited budget. Also, when you say you want to edit music and videos, are you using something intensive like Premiere/Audition, or are you using something like Windows movie maker/Audacity?

More of the latter atm, but I want to do stuff from Premiere maybe in the future. And yeah around $5k probs.

One more question :)

10) Will you be using it for gaming when you are not at home?

If yes: Choose the Razer Blade Pro :)

http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade-pro (Contains some info)

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Blade-Inch-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B00CZ8J56U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1380611118&sr=8-2&keywords=Razer+Blade+pro (Amazon link)

If no: Choose either a Apple product (I hope you do not choose this option) or a Azer Aspire S7 as stated above :)

http://www.amazon.com/Acer-S7-392-9890-13-3-Inch-Touchscreen-Ultrabook/dp/B00D4AX780/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380611208&sr=8-1&keywords=acer+aspire+s7

I can´t seems to find any more expensive Laptops not intended for gaming so I am sorry for not being able to reach the 5K mark ;)

But a off topic thing: How can I integrate a link in text (like integrating the entire link for the S7 above) into a few words?

The thing about editing on a laptop is that there isn't really a good mix between portable and performance. It's pretty much one or the other. I would recommend a Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch, Lenovo is one of the most respected brands in the pre-built PC/laptop world, if not the most respected next to Asus. I have a Lenovo Y500 myself, it never misses a beat, but it is fairly heavy and thick. Again, it's a trade off, you have screamingly fast performance or portability, not both. I would do heavy rendering on your desktop and occasional edits on your laptop. Still, it has a pretty beefy processor and it should work fine if you aren't relying on any GPU accelerated work. If you don't want to get the laptop I suggested, the Aspire S7 AdamIsaacLang recommended is also a good choice.

You could get an ASUS Zenbook. They are slim, light and good performing laptops. Or if you want to be hipster, then you could buy the cheapest version of the MacBook Pro Retina 15". I am using it, and I actually like it (Don't hate me D:).

You have to select some text, then click the link button above, enter your link, and boom. It's next to the number bullets.

I think those are a bit away but if you do get one you could also get a magma express box 3T if you have an extra $1000 and pair it with a GTX 760.

The new MacBook Pros will likely be presented on 15th of this month. Wait two more weeks I'd say. Apple will either implement a higher end GPU by Nvidia or leave it out completely because of iris pro.

I hope they come out on Amazon the day they get announced.
