XFX r9 390

So I just built my first PC a week ago and I noticed while running Doom, I heard loud noises. Originally thinking it was a fan wire at first I soon realized that it was my graphics card making noise. It sounded like plastic colliding and/or coil whine. Is my card bad or is it a design flaw?

Its its coil whine there is no need to worry and there is nothing you can do

Would having more than 1 case fan help with the noise? I have just an exhaust in the back and if the graphics card got to move less air, would that help with the noise?

Is it vibrating? 

 

XFX blows are directed out the side of the card where the heat sink has a void. 

 

Side panel with a cut out will help expel the heat/air.

I have this card, and had the same problem.  They actually replaced it for me.  If it annoys you too much, you might as well just email them and see if they would be willing to "fix" or replace it.

Did you go to XFX or the realtaitor you bought it from?
