Best cheap or budget laptop with a dedicated GPU (nvidia only)

so is this the best one in the budget? better than dell 5558?

I'd take the Z51 - R9 M375 is quite potent and the thermal situation is better than the Dell. Don't be afraid of AMD mobile GPUs, people tend to say "AMD is hot" without actually having used their hardware. ever.

Recently I've been looking up for a laptop for light gaming like rocket league and mild video editing. The configuration that I'm looking for is i5 5200u, 8gb ram, 1tb HDD and a 4gb gt940 GPU. What would be the best laptop for such multimedia usage? Would it be better to buy a 4th gen HQ i5 rather than 5th gen U i5?

budget? its might be hard to find 4th gen or even 5th gen at this point, since they'll be discontinued in favor of a 6th gen processor, if anything for the marketing

anyways, i found this that matches your specs for $519 (if you're in the us anyways)

ACER V3 574G-75M4 BLACK https://www.amazon.in/dp/B017CUOTBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ubFAxb3BCBE51

How is this one compared to e5

Both are terrible. Acer's build quality and customer support are awful. Avoid them at all costs. What is your budget?

Nothing that fits your needs. You WANT a quad-core CPU that is not locked to 15W (ULV crap) so you can either

A - save up
B - buy used

Well, the build is better than the Acer, the cooling is also better. CPU should be similar, maybe a bit better. GPU is meh though - R7 M360 is around the same as a 840M.

R9 M375 is quite a bit faster than a 940M. So for gaming this will be much better than the Acer

there wont be any over heating issues with the amd card right? see currently im using a lenovo z580

2nd gen i3

4 gigs ram

nvidia gt630

120 gb ssd.

so ever since ive installed ssd its been decent enough for 720 and 1080 videos. so i suppose that the same amount of usage should be crisp on the z51

it shouldn't. If the professional review is to be believed, it runs quite cool. - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Z51-70-Radeon-R9-M375-Notebook-Review.151560.0.html
