So I have a GTX 980ti lightning and while playing Overwatch which is super easy to max out at 1080p my GPU core gets to 75 degrees. So you're probably thinking it's not that hot but what is weird is over games like GTA V only get my core to around 70 degrees. So what I am confused about is how does such an easy load game get my GPU so hot. thanks

Well a load is still a load and your GPU is going to get hot as it works at that load. Doesn't matter if it's TF2 or Crysis, the only difference is your frame rate.

Under the advanced tab in the video settings, make sure that the render scale is set to 100%. Otherwise I'm not really sure.

That's V-sync. It should be on.

Eh, honestly I find that the "display based" frame rate limiting option works better; I get slight input lag with Vsync in OW.

the rendering resolution was set to 141% as "automatic" and that brought temps down to 68.

yeah i cant play with v sync to much input lag

Yep, that'll do it, always keep that on 100%. And yeah, I can't manage that game with Vsync either :D
