I Think My Card Is Dying.

So today I was in the middle of a comp game on CS:GO when my game stopped responding and my screens went black. When they came back I noticed artifacting on my monitors. I immediately turned my computer off and restarted. Once back in I gave my PC a minute to gather it's thought before launching back into CS:GO so I could resume my game. After about three rounds it did the same thing again but this time there was no artifcatcing. It just simply cut my FPS in half. Literally in half. I was averaging 150 fps before then after it went down to 74 fps average. A few more rounds went by then it did the same thing... again!... but no artifacting it just cut the fps in half so now i was playing a CS:GO comp with 32 fps average... and let me tell you... when you're generally the AWPer for your team and you have 30 fps it's not pleasant. Anyway, finally finished the game I decided to try a benchmark so I used Valley Benchmark which I generally run on high settings at 80 fps average but this time I was running it on Medium no AA just to see if my GPU could handle it and it definitely couldn't. The most I got was 20 fps.

I then restarted my computer in general. After it booted up I opened MSi Afterburner and Geforce Experience to make sure I wasn't overclocking my card and to make sure I had the latest driver in case it may have been some kind of driver problem. They were both fine. I opened up Valley Benchmark again running it on Medium no AA at 1080p and this time I got normal framerates of 80-90 fps. I then decided to crank it back up to high settings with no AA at 1080p and I was getting normal framerates again with 74-80 fps.

So now I'm confused. Should I continue testing my card to see if it will give me anymore problems or should I just give it a break and maybe start an RMA for it with EVGA? This is the first time my card has ever given problems like this. I have gotten problems in the past though where the card won't let me play certain games while it's overclocked.

Thank you for any help.

What are your temps like when gaming?

The highest temp I got when playing CS:GO when it started this was 55C. But when underload like when doing benchmarks or playing other games in the past it never goes over 80C.
