URGENT HDD Help

A friend of mine has a Seagate SRD00F1. They told me that it stopped working and I was later told it was dropped. I took the HDD out of its enclosure and put it in a HDD dock. It is now making very faint beeping noises. Is it dead?

Its probably dead. If you care about the data don't try to use it and sent it to a data recovery place, else toss it.

If that happened when it was running very likely it's no good anymore, I think linus did a video before on cooling down the drive to see if it could work again but hard to say in this case.

The data may have a better chance at recovery then if it was moving and dropped or hit it's very possible the platters could have gotten scratched.
