Hey guys gonna get the RX-480 when it comes out I just need to know if my CX-430 PSU is enough to handle it (if I did my math right it should but would like other opinions), my CPU is a Intel Pentium g3258.

Ehhhhh it can provide enough wattage but I might upgrade. Not the best PSU in the world. Check out the PSU whitelist in my signature.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

It would probably power it fine but the quality of the PSU isn't particularly good. I'd look to upgrading either way.

If you're in the states and have the extra to spare and don't mind waiting for a rebate, this is a better deal.

$36.99 after rebate.

Edit: Thought you were looking to buy a cx-430. Ignore.

It should be "enough". In theory, even flat out, your system should only use about 300 watts (provided you're not running umpteen hard drives or whatever.)

Of course, you wouldn't want to try to overclock anything. You can ignore what some people say about the CX series. They may not be "the best", but they are more than adequate. Anything 80+ rated will meet the basic requirements. I can tell you from experience that they are many times better than the junk that used to come bundled with cases. :)

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD
