GTX 970 temperatures

I was using firestrike to see how well my pc would perform and the gpu temperature went up to 103 Celsius! Does anyone know why it would go that high? (+150 Mhz overclock on core and memory clock.)

 

edit : its usually 40-60 degrees

How's the airflow in your case? What temps are you getting at stock? Is it a reference card?

you probably misread the value,

can you post your result and a screenshot where you saw that value?

Few things, airflow and custom fan curve.

My 290 hit 92C without a custom fan curve and never went past 81c with one.

Even at I think it was 60-70% fan usage, it was still really silent.

I've only seen 970s with clogged reference coolers get that hot. I've got three Windforce X3s that never go over 60C each in very different kinds of cases (one with almost no airflow even) so a temp that high would be worrisome to me.

cant post a screenshot since I shutdown pc, saw the value in afterburner.

does it do that again if you run firestrike?

is the card new or have been use for some time?

if it's new maybe RMA it

it's stock NZXT H440 airflow with a 240mm AiO on CPU on the top

About 70*C~75*C on both cards

no both are Sapphire Tri-X cards
