Microsoft.

Are you serious.

I wanted to change the location of recorded clips with microsofts game dvr. A FORUM MODERATOR ON THE MICROSOFT BOARD SAYS

Quote

Unfortunately, You can’t change the storage location of your screenshots or game clips. as suggested in this link

Record game clips with Game DVR on Windows 10

Game clips and screenshots are saved in the File Explorer\Videos\Captures folder

Troubleshoot Game DVR on Windows 10

Thank you.

And I scroll down a little and look at that! Another user tells me EXACTLY how to change the directory of stored videos in windows game recorder.

Quote
While you can't change the Xbox storage location, it does link to the "Videos" location.  And that you can change.  Right click on the Videos folder under This PC in Explorer and go to properties.  You'll find a location tab and you can move that location to one of your mechanical drives.  Xbox will use this new location since it's looking for the Videos system link

I followed these directions, and voila! It magically works! Although, I seem to have made a mistake of where I want to store the files. I look around, and NOWHERE DOES IT TELL ME HOW TO REVERT THIS. So, me being me, I try to fix this by formatting the drive and changing the drive letter in hopes that Microsoft had the competence to put the one line of code in that tells game DVR to create a new directory to store videos when the original one is missing. And of course, NO. There was no effort put in to create a new directory when the old one is missing. IT LITERALLY WOULD HAVE TAKEN LESS THAN A MINUTE TO IMPLEMENT IT, YET THEY DIDN'T. You know what game dvr says when i try to record it with the missing directory? It gives me this error:

Xbox_2015-06-07_23-14-31.png

"Something went wrong. Try again later."

How in the hell is that suppose to help me troubleshoot the problem? AM I SUPPOSE TO REINSTALL WINDOWS FOR THE 10TH TIME?

please help

i need to revert location changes in windows 10

how do i do this

cant you just set the location back to the previus one in that video folder properly you edited? that should fix it, or set a new path to the new formatted drive if thats what you want

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler
