Youtube gave my video bad quality.

Ok what is going on. I uploaded a video on 8,1GB then its rendered down to 161MB. Whats wrong?? I want the full high quality back. The video is 1080p but rendered down to 360p. Not cool.

Youtube after it is uploaded and can be watched is still processing it. Come back in like an hour, and it should be the proper resolution.

I know it says processing. But now it dosen't anymore. I hit publish before it was done. But it did continue to process the video after i did.

How long has it been since it was fully uploaded and watchable?

so, you uploaded it in 1080p, and it isn't 1080p? 

 

I'd suggest giving it some time and it should be in 1080p shortly.

Thanks. Works now :) It says 720p HD and 1080p HD.

Great!

When its "uploaded" it will start with 240p for example, then over time it will begin to add more resolutions until the native resolution of the video. It's just the system that YouTube uses, so it's nothing to worry about.

Youtube degrades quality regardless, it should do 1080P but it won't be the 1080P you uploaded.

let us all remember now and today, computers do not like abuse, they will fight back!

I have found it can take half a day sometimes to get the full quality version completed especially for a 1080@60 video. Make sure to look up the recommendations for youtube uploads so that you don't upload more than you need to, YT is only going to give you 12 mbps for 1080@60 or 8mbps for 1080@30 so there isn't a lot of point giving it much more bit rate than that.
