Rly i heard that 1070 is better but 480sli is better and cost less and then that sli work bad not all games work with sli and so on /my friend say that if I buy 480sli now that nvidia will like lower the price or do something to be on the top

 

So what should I do I want to like buy my pc cuz my old is broken

SLI (Scan-Line Interleave) is 3DFX's dual GPU solution.

SLI (Scalable Link Interface) is Nvidia's dual GPU solution, since Nvidia bought out 3Dfx, they owned the term "SLI" and changed the acronym to make it work with the product.

Crossfire is AMD/ATi's dual Graphics card solution.

I'm assuming by 480 you're referring to the AMD Radeon RX 480 not the Nvidia GTX 480 which is very old at this point, Nvidia uses SLI (scalable link interface) meanwhile AMD's name for that technology is Crossfire.

No one knows if two 480s can beat a 1080 or even a 1070. And there are no tests showing two 480s in crossfire, the test done by AMD used Ashes od the Singularity that doesn't use crossfire.

 

Wait for independent benchmarks to be done on the RX 480. You have to anyway as they are not available.

That's when the people with RX 480 will be allowed to share their findings. But the RX 480 is NOT a high end card. The 1070 WILL be better by far. Here is someone who knows and hints at the RX 480 not performing as well as the rumors.

I wouldn't get either of them. If you want good performance wait for 1080ti or Volta/Vega. If you want mid range 980 type performance get a 480. All these cards are loads of crap. They flash all this hype but they sorta suck for what they are. AMD is doing well with price/watt and price/performance but if you want ultra high end there isn't anything yet

Crossfire is AMD's version of SLI. Crossfire used to be done with a bridge like SLI, and weren't originally from Nvidia or AMD.

 

SLI was created by 3dfx and Crossfire by ATI. ATI obviously being purchased by AMD and 3dfx by Nvidia.

 

Now an RX 480 CF will probably preform slightly better than the GTX 1070 and CF does scale better than SLI but I'd recommend you just go for a single card because CF and SLI still have some issues.
