Hi all. Just built a fancy new pc for my friend. plug it all up and absolutely nothing. It occasionally boots for .00001 seconds with a small LED on the board that notifies me that the "CPU" is the issue. Very vague I know. SOOOO, we have cleared the CMOS, unplugged and re plugged every fan on his cooler, unplugged and re plugged his CPU 8pin power connector, even put the stock intel cooler back on there, and EVEN took the CPU out, ensured no bent pins, and reinstalled it. Tried every RAM stick in EVERY slot, reseated the GPU, made sure the front panel connectors are in properly, tried booting it with a key by bridging the gap of the +/- power connectors. Absolutely nothing. The monitor doesnt get a signal either. I need some quick help. Specs below.

i7 6700

MSI H170 PC MATE

Gtx 1070

Corsair RM750x

16gb G Skill 4x4gb 3000mhz

Corsair H50

Anything else you need just ask. Thanks :D

so does it turn off immediately? then it is not an cpu problem because if it is it will turn on but have no image. and its probably not a fan problem nor it is a ram problem because once again it should turn on and stay on but have no image if it was a ram problem

I'm pretty new to computers, so don't take my word as gospel or anything, but it sounds like insufficient power. ANY other component issue as far as I'm aware should get at least some response. check all your wires. push them ALL the way in until they click (especially the 24 pin as GDRR said) also make sure nothing on the motherboard is out of place, that there is nothing behind the motherboard, and that your motherboard is installed in your case on standoffs. You could be experiencing a short, and your motherboard's surge protectors are shutting it off to prevent it taking damage from electricity going somewhere it shouldn't.

But again, my knowledge of computers is at a fairly novice level, especially when it comes to troubleshooting. If that's not it, I'm out of ideas.

Maybe check to see if there is any debris inside the CPU socket? I think there was a junkyard wars or maybe some product review or something I saw where a computer refused to turn on because there was some fleck of dust in the CPU socket, between it and the CPU. I dunno man, grasping at straws here. Could be one of your parts is DOA maybe?

Try with a different CPU. (simple stuff out of the way first) make sure your CPU is seated in the correct corner.

Motivation is where, and what you make of it.

“It is relatively unusual that a physical scientist is truly an atheist. Why is this true? Some point to the anthropic constraints, the remarkable fine tuning of the universe. For example, Freeman Dyson, a Princeton faculty member, has said, ‘Nature has been kinder to us that we had any right to expect.'”  Albert Einstein
