Keyboard suggestions: admittedly picky

Okay. I know I am being very picky here, but I'm looking far and wide for a keyboard with these characteristics but without luck

1) mechanical (brown or blue switches)

2) orange themed (can be orange-coloured, orange-LED, or RGB-LED)

3) comfortable wrist rest (preferably a big one)

4) must include the numpad

I've found a couple of candidates that sorta mean some/all of the requirements

Razr Black Widow Battlefield edition (wrist rest is kinda dinky though)

Ducky Shine Orange YOTD YOTS (no rest at all)

Max Nighthawk X8 (comes with a rest, but not attached)

Logitech G19S / G510S / G710+ (sacrifice custom LED backlighting vs mechanical key switches)

For context, I have the atomic orange Bitfenix Prodigy, the orange Steeleries Siberia V2 and will soon be getting the inferno orange Roccat Kone Pure. yeah, I'm kinda nuts, but a theme is a theme, right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to burn my taste in colour, as long as you throw in something constructive afterwards ;)

The 710+ is a pretty keyboard that would fit with your design, black and grey with a bit of orange around the macro keys. The white backlit also fits with the orange scheme that you have.

It was on sale last week at like 110$ on Amazon, if it's still at that price it's definitely a good choice :)

+ Yes, Ducky Shine would be a great choice too if you can find an appropriate wrist rest for it

G710+ sounds good, or you could get a Ducky with a separate wrist rest.

FYI, you'd stated a need for Numpad, the YOTD does not have Numpad....at least, the one I have doesn't since it's a TKL model. Get a Ducky Shine 3 with orange LED and a relatively low-priced wrist rest and you'd be good to go. An example of such a wrist rest is the one below...

+1 on the G710+. It has a bright white backlight and the keycaps have O-rings beneath them to dampen the sound and to prevent bottoming out. The LGS gaming software is pretty easy to use imo.

Thanks everyone

I really like the Logitech G710+ as a keyboard overall, but it's not really to my specific taste. I'm leaning heavily towards the Ducky Shine 3. I found those grifiti fat wrist pads on amazon.ca for pretty cheap... has anyone had experience with those?

if i knew how i would. i don't have a lot of technical knowledge about these sorts of things though. is it easy?

It depends on whether it's plate or PCB mounted, whether it's soldered on or not.....wouldn't suggest you try unless you'e real handy with a soldering iron. A guy modded his BWU by painting it white, and changing the LED from green to blue, looks awesome (it's called a White Widow now).....but only if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of guides on the net as to how the LED's can be changed, even switches, so if you have the time and enthusiasm (and patience I might add), go for it! For me, I find stock keyboards have their intrinsic beauty, hence my reluctance to mod them.......that, or I'm lone really lazy bum! :P  :D
