So this is my setup, pretty good right? But the thing is that I am the kind of person who likes to move his furniture every 2 months. Now I have finally found a spot in my house that is perfect for my setup (next to my dad's desk).

And I'm pretty happy with what I have at the moment, but there are some things missing. Like speakers or...... or...... this is the problem I don't know what to buy.

So I have done a couple things since my last post on this forum about a year ago

from drilling a hole for my keyboard and mouse cables and working on my cablemanagment to buying and building a monitor stand for my new dual monitor setup.

But the reason I'm writing this post is that I need help from you guys to improve my setup, any tips would be highly appreciated and don't be afraid to go crazy!

My budget is about 200 bucks,

At first I wanted to buy the Edifier Luna Eclipse speakers. Great build, awesome sound and amazing aesthetics. But those cost 180 bucks, completely emptying my wallet and removing any other opportunity's.

Second idea was to buy the Edifier 980T's, these too have a great build, reasonably good sound but a little dull and regular square design. If I'll choose this over the luna's it would save me alot of money which I could put into

something else for my setup.

I maybe also want to dual boot windows and mac but at the moment my cpu is not compatible with osx. So maybe buy a cheap i3?

Questions:

1. Is paying 180 on speakers a smart decision?

2. Should I even buy expensive speakers?

3  Please give as many tips for my setup please!!!

I bought 10 dollar speakers ( http://pcpartpicker.com/product/cPw323/cyber-acoustics-speakers-ca2012rb )

and they work fine! It's not like I do any precise audio work. I edit videos sometimes, but these speakers are fine for that.

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

2 things

#1 holy crap that setup is beautiful

#2 i'm using £60 speakers and they're pretty damn good (Logitech Z320) but just depends what you plan to do, if your doing high end audio work perhaps some yamaha audio monitors but if you're just listening to music and games then i think 50-60 is around about the right price

My PC: I7 4770 (3.4Ghz)

32Gb Corsair Xms3 DDR3

Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980ti

Asus Z87-A Motherboard

Samsung 120gb SSD

Seagate 2TB HDD

Aerocool Xpredator Evil Black

I don't know if you watched Jonathan Morrison's dream desk 2 but those speakers are bloody gorgeous. I'd want those, but I don't have and don't want to spend 1500 bucks on speakers.

So the Edifier Luna Eclipse are pretty similar in design for 1/10 the price.

That's the only reason why I would want those edifier luna's. The price is high but would they look nice on my desk? So yeah, what color red or white

You should stick your PC on the desk and put a lighting strip inside it. Screw the plant.

Also, looking at your specs... I know you're focusing on the aesthetics of your setup, but if I had that money to spend I'd put it into the machine itself. You might not care, but that's what I'd do.

Pc on the desk isn't even considerable, I think it looks awful, and would completely ruin my setup.

How so? Do you mean its presence is aweful or the computer itself looks aweful?

I mean, I can't see the inside of the case, so I'm not sure...

As far as I can tell this actually belongs in Audio.  Moved.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

The better speakers, the better audio quality you get.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

... Well, you could have it in a more visible place on the ground. A case like that is meant to look pretty, not be tucked away in the corner...

Just seems a bit heartless. It looks lonely and rejected.

I do understand why you don't want it up there, though. It always takes me a second to realize that it only works if you have a massive desk where it can sit in the background, like Skunkworks.

... Or, in my case, if you just have a completely separate pedestal on which your computer sits.

Yep, agree wholeheartedly with this.;)

@OP, it seems that you've decided on the Edifier Lunar Eclipse, might as well go for it. And I'd suggest going with the red (matches your case and chair) since white, depending on the plastic used, might turn a tad yellow over time. I'd not pick them myself as I don't trust BT (for reliability and audio transmission) and would prefer wired speaker, but that's just me being me as I'm an old skool guy I guess.

When I buy stuff, I don't really pay attention to color, design and whatnot, I should though....I suppose I can use my Topre RF keyboard with yellow PBT key caps or my Ducky all yellow KB to match the speakers. But they are full sized KB and I ain't into them presently.....presently, my speed is TKL, 75% and 60% KB's.

Winning an argument with a woman step by step

step one - talk to her

step two - fight with her for 2 hours even if you are really right

step three - admit that she is right for the sake of your safety

step four - realize that you have accomplished nothing and she still thinks you were wrong and now she thinks you are even more stupid

on the look mate, of course performance is important but I do care more about the looks.

If you like looks you could go for the edifiers. They're nice-ish but they don't sound amazing. You could also grab some KRKs since they're really great. Stay away from Yamaha unless you have extra money you don't mind spending. Though your setup looks beautiful. Cable management on point!

Dat keyboard and color, if looks like a cm storm quickfire rapid i or cm storm quickfire rapid. How much did you pay for those caps?

Okay back to topic

these are pretty good for the price, so are these, but they will need a amp like this one.

If you care more about looks than sound, then get the prettiest ones you can find

Zeos alert? They're not good without EQ according to this.

Nope one of my friends own that setup and they sound pretty good for the price, I have no idea if they need EQ or if Zeos did a review on them. He (my friend) most likely has done something with a EQ.
