Master Disaster

I remember it getting switched on about 2 years and thinking "never again will I be waiting multiple hours for anything to download", 2 years later and we are here

Good that you have fiber, you can always ask the isp for a boost of 100Megs or more. Now me i have 100 of VADSL and its almost the limit :P

What is your plan? If you're downloading at 3.1 MB/s, that should mean your connection is ~25 Mbps, assuming you were more or less capping out your system (25 Mbps = 3.125 MB/s).

 

Is that synchronous FTTH/FTTP 25/25? Or are you on some sort of FTTN VDSL/DOCSIS 3.0 connection?

Connection is supposed to be 40Mbps but I've spoken to them and it's down to the distance between me and the telephone exchange. Its FTTC and 40 is the fastest they offer for home users so I'm stuck with it until they upgrade :(

 

I've seen it go as fast as 3.5Mb from some servers which is close enough.
