CPU vs GPU for rendering

Would it be better to render with my CPU or GPU in Sony Vegas Pro 13 (which would be faster). I render videos into 720p 60fps. My CPU is a Core i5-4460 and my GPU is an R9-380.

Using your CPU will render the video faster as video rendering uses cpu more

So for some weird reason my Vegas has only ever used my CPU even though I have set it to my gpu. Open your render settings and click check gpu to see if it says its enabled, it probably isnt. There is really no difference between gpu or cpu because most of the time the cpu is being used but the gpu is aiding it.

since you're already using that setup why not just test what's faster?

CPU is usually better (not necessarily better but is just supported more) for video. 3D objects however, GPU.

For rendering you want a powerful GPU and a CPU with a lot of threads. Render with the GPU. If you could, upgrading that PSU would be good as it is based on a mediocre HEC platform.
