I have an maximus hero VII. I was going to changed the fans on my radiator and took them off just to realize that it uses 140mm and not 120 -_- just it all back together and now I'm getting CPU fan error. Everything is plugged back in obviously because both the fans are going. What do I do?

As I side note I also moved my hard drive cages around and as so the molex connectors to them and also when it boots it says degraded in my raid....... raid 1 between two two TB HDDs

Thanks for the help. Super stressed

There's a wire between your cpu block and your motherboard itself just above the VRM, is that one connected properly?

The motherboard freaks out because it can't see any rpm signal probably so it gives an error, it doesn't care if there's actually a fan attached to it, it just wants an rpm signal.

Are you sure you plugged the fan header into the CPU FAN conector instead of the SYS FAN?

Ok umm, go into the bios and check what rpm the cpu-fan shows, let us know what it says and we'll see from there.

Motherboard manual can help you out if you aren't familiar with the bios.
