There was a fire recently? No wonder RAM prices have gone back up. I bought a 16GB kit of Corsair Vengeance Pro less than a month ago for $125, now they're $165.

lol, guys im trying to build a 4p folding machine, i need to get my hands on 16 ram sticks .. yeah it's not pretty.

the fire wasn't that recently but fairly recent, i don't remember when but think it was a few weeks ago, a factory burned down that produces a massive ammount of the commercial stuff apperantly.

Is the moral of the story stop depending on the Chinese for everything?

Am I the only person who found it halarious that the rest of the world has to pay standard Australian prices and its an outrage and the sad part is i'm not even phased because Australia still isn't boned as hard as New Zealand.

Then checkout the currency conversion and tell me you have it rough for ram prices.

p.s. Not having a dig at anyone just saying it could be far worse guys ($40 NZ for a single 2gb stick [roughly $38 Australian or $35 US if my memory serves me right]).

OH GOD. let's hope they overcompensate and prices will drop massively again. So I can finally get 16GB.

I really hope this happens but realistically, it is wishful thinking. Everyone has a  horror story when it comes to RAM prices at present. I paid $38.99 for 8GB of HyperX 1600Mhz in october 2012 and the exact same 8GB kit a month later for the same price and now it is like $68 for the same kit. Boggles my mind, not even a 50% hike but more than 100%.

If you're in the U.S., Newegg is currently giving 10% off all desktop memory with the promo code: BTEXLTX37

This may save you a few dollars, especially if you buy a more expensive kit. This code expires at 11:59pm PDT on Sept. 30.
