Can someone explain me what is PoE when it comes to network etc.

Power Over Ethernet. Believe it or not, it provides electricity over Ethernet. Who woulda thought

Sends power over ethernet cables. Used for powering things like access points, meaning that you don't need to have a power source in some random place in order just to power that access point.

PoE is a "standard" (more or less) for providing power over an ethernet cable, its very popular for access points, especially in large deployments where you can just put a single PoE injector switch in the networking clouset, and have ethernet AND power go from there to all the access points on a single cable.

 

issues are that its generally mindblowingly expensive, and when you want gigabit its generally even mindblowinger expdensive.
