I've now had my computer for almost half a year and recently it's had some weird behavior. mainly the screens freezing and nothing responding to windows crashing etc. I don't know what the problem is and it's really hard to cope with random computer crashes very often. I can't even just use it for simple browsing or gaming because when I try to move the browser to my second screen *crash* try to launch a game *crash*. I don't have malware I'm sure I've run many checks now and nothing pops up, I know it's not heating the computer crashes with just 30 C on the hottest parts (usually gpu) and all I've done has been no use. anyone willing to tell me what it could be?

Sounds like memory or Hard Drive issues. Run a disk check on the drive and if thats good, download Memtest86 and test your memory.

Check your task manager to see if a lot of your RAM is being used. If so, probably find some startup processes to disable/end that you don't need.

If your computer doesn't crash itself, i doubt it's a hardware issue.

not ram I checked. it uses about 30% and still crashes

I ran memtest86 and it gave me errors. I will now need a new set of memory but also would like to ask you if you know what can cause errors in the memory? I know heat and doubt it was that I keep the setup pretty cool but the rest? memtest was a tremendous help and I thank you for suggesting it. Linustecthips.com was the only place I thought I could get help at and it was. I'm pretty saddened too see this happen though my rig is only about half a year old and needing new memory already is a fair bit disappointing. but still thank you for telling me about memtest I have never heard of it before this.

It happens, like most things it goes bad. You may want to check with the manufacture as many like G.Skills offer good warranty such as lifetime warranty and replacement.

You on Windows 10?

Check this thread

if you find any errors like this then join the club,  I'm convinced windows 10 is to blame had no issues at all on 8.1.

yep on windows 10. I got new RAM and working fine but I have so far had 3 computer lock ups. the RAM was the first issue but win 10 is the second issue. thanks for letting me know about this too.

No worries,  just check if you got the same errors as in the thread in your windows event log I can help you filter just those out if needed.

Some reason I don't get these errors under win7 partition be it the corruption is on a certain chip of the SSD or was it it was but windows 7 and no more issues.
