Chromebox Mini PC as VPN Server

Jackpot17

I have a spare Chromebox (NUC style PC) and was wondering if I could set it up as a VPN server on my network so I can connect to my home sever when I'm out.

Is this a thing that people actually do, or are there better alternatives?

If so, what os would I use?

Help appreciated.

What OS you are running ? If win or linux or mac you can use OpenVPN or you can also use teamviewer and set up like a VPN service ( not quite but at least remote control and other things like Wake on lan  )

OpenVPN looks good, I don't have an OS on it at the moment but I would like to use Linux (Ubuntu)
