The some reason is PROBABLY because your Ethernet isn't working so you can't connect to the internet to get a new driver to connect to the internet...

What you will have to do is use a third party(your laptop?) to download an ethernet driver then transfer it in some way (burned CD. USB stick WHY).  Then use the update driver>browse my computer and update that way.  After ensuring the Ethernet card  is (if seperate) installed properly .

If you still have the initial install disc use the Driver from that to get you online then you can get online to find the latest driver.

So ensure physically all is well then use the initial driver from the install disk or DL from a third party.

Good luck.

The ethernet card is built into my msi motherboard, but i cant find any drivers for it, due to the fact that I don't even know which company actually is the correct driver.

Run msinfo32.exe. ( Start>run> type msinfo.exe into the box) then click   Components> network >adaptor

This should give you lots of information on your particular adaptor including what make/model it is and so what drivers are required.
