XPS 13 SSD Replacement

Hi all!

 

It's likely that this question has been asked before and my apologies if so. I am wondering if it is possible to drop a NVMe/PCIe M.2 drive into the slot currently occupied by a 512GB Samsung PM851 SATA M.2 drive in a Dell XPS 13. The form factor certainly matched but I'm not so sure whether they are cross compatible. I would like to upgrade the lowly 400/300 read/write speeds of this drive to something more like 1500/1000.
