So I just upgraded my internet and I was using a pretty old network adapter that couldn't get that fast of speeds. I had a NetGear A6200 kickin around so I decided to use it. First impressions of it were amazing I was getting triple my speed than it was before, I figured this was due to the fact that I was connecting to 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz. My old network adapter could not connect to 5GHz so I decided to keep using my NetGear A6200. But my main problem with this product is randomly when I am browsing or using any internet it will turn off the WiFi to my computer and I know this is not a modem problem I just upgraded my modem. So I decided to look up some information about the product and I found that many other people are having the problem as well I tried many solutions but I figure the adapters software is bugged for its minimum power consumption. anyways I don't mind buying a new product if I need too, but my problem with that is I have no clue what I should look for in a product for WiFi adapters, or whether I should try to get an Ethernet cable ( I would really like to avoid that since my modem is in the basement and I am a floor above it would require I lot of work). Could someone maybe point me in the direction I should be looking in?

Your modem has nothing to do with the WiFi in your network.  So I don't know why you mentioned upgrading it.

Additionally, you never mentioned installing the drivers, so that is the first place I'd look if I was you.

I got a feeling that you're confusing Modem with Router.  They are not the same thing.

I have a ASUS PCE-AC66 and its kinda bad ass.  But without knowing what kind of network you have, its hard for me to recommend anything at all.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I have a modem/router combo with comcast and I know that they are not the same thing so you dont have to be rude

Also I already told you that I tried solutions so I already did the driver updates and they are most recent updates

That's your problem.  Get rid of the "give me" unit from cumcast and save yourself $10 a month.

Comcast's modem/router combo's dont have a good rep. Ive heard Comcast turned down wireless range in these so they dont interfere with your neighbors network and such. I would buy a good mdoem and good separate router.

I noticed in your first post you mentioned something about the wireless card having software. Were you referring to the driver? If your using standalone software with the wireless card stop. Windows has built in software that should work fine. Another thing that could be happening is the wireless card might be over heating. I think its very slim this could be happening, however the new wireless AC cards do have big ass heat sinks on them witch suggests that they can get hot. When I used to run wireless I had my card in the PCI Express X1 slot above my graphics card so that it would not get hot air blown on it. Also about how far between the computer and your router? Do any other wireless devices have issues? I would advise you use something like the WiFi Analyzer App on Android to see if there are any other networks that are interfering with yours. Maybe there is a source of interference some wheres that is causing the issues.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
