Hey all, long time viewer of LTT, and a creeper on these forums :D

Hoping you can help me with something, also if this is the wrong place to post apologies I hope mods can help with that.

I've attached a photograph of the side of my laptop (Gigabyte p35w V5 for anyone that's interested or if it's applicable to the part).  Hopefully you can see that the AUX sort of  "guide" or rim type thing which kinda holds the AUX in place has come off. (Clumsily I stood up thinking I wasn't attached).

Does anyone know if these are purchasable anywhere?

Cheers

(Just noticed it looks a lot darker on my laptop than my phone but I think you can still make it out ok)

Does the cord keep coming out?

IF so, just get some cheap, thin rubber O-Rings from Hoe Depot or whatever. Cut them to size, and glue

No, the cord is held in rather securely as it is, in fact there's not much difference.  The issue I have is I'm worried as any force which is applied to either side of the cord as it is in the jack, is transferred to the jack instead of some of it being dissipated onto the rim.

That's a good idea, I'll definitely look into it thanks.

Jacks like those are pretty solid, especially in a gaming laptop, designed for many push ins and pull outs (if you know what I mean)

Im sure it will perfectly fine. Its like that on most phones I've ever owned, and ive never had a problem with a damaged jack

Hm this is a good point.  It does seem solid in fairness.  I'll look into UberGamerKing's suggestion re O rings for peace of mind :)
