MSI 1080 Gaming X Pricing

Makes you wonder what they are going to want for the 1080Ti's when they come out.

$899 FE and AIB starting at $799. That's my guess. It all depends what AMD do as well.

That's not much compared to the 1080

But I'm not sure I like where this is going. It's like Nvidia are saying if you want the performance be ready to pay $650+ and if you can't afford it buy Amd.

Well, the 980 was $549 at launch. It dropped to $499 when the 980 Ti released at $649. That's a $150 dollar difference. Seeing as how nVidia upped Pascal cards by $50 dollars over the previous x70/x80 cards, I don't think it's too far fetched to believe the 1080 Ti too will have a $50 dollar price raise.

Another thing to factor is Vega and AMD's price positioning as well.

Depending on how well the very cheap AMD cards go, it might force nvidia to lower their prices a little for people to actually buy them

Your card is in stock if you're willing to dump $720 on it.

EDIT: Nevermind, it just went out of stock again.

This card is super expensive. I just picked one up yesterday because I'm impatient and I am hoping that the price will drop within a month so I can go back to MC and get the difference back.

All that being said, this card is freaking awesome. Great cooling performance and power delivery. I'm maxing out DOOM 2016 at 1440p with between 120-144fps with an occasional drop to 95fps. Not too shabby for one card.

i7-4790k @ 4.7GHz, 16GB DDR3 @1866MHz, MSI Gaming X 8G GTX 1080@2060MHz, 500GB SSD, 2TB Raid 0 HDD, 240GB Raid 0 SSD, EVGA SuperNOVA 850W PSU, Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed

I'm waiting for a price drop, since I am also going to be going to a x99 platform at the same time

The quietness and coolness is what draws me to this card

I am enjoying it so far. This much horsepower is the reason I'm about to mod the crap out of skyrim and play though it again at 1440p. It's very cool and quiet at stock, but I am going to start overclocking tonight.

I mean ok but seriously though, is newegg the sole provider of GPUs in the US? There should be a way to find physical stores that have them available...

EVGA ACX is currently the best price for what you get in the UK:

Almost tempting.

But its only 1 power connector.

I don't believe that will be a problem unless you have a custom loop
