I don't know what setting i changed but when i play games, example League of Legends and CSGO. I go to places that are not warded in league my screen brightness will be lowered down and when I stay in places that are warded my screen brightness back to normal. When I play in CSGO, I go to places that are darker my screen brightness also will be lowered down. This happened right after I install the GPU

Well since it's happening since you have a new GPU, I would suggest you take a look in the Nvidia control panel and see if there is a setting for this

I had a friend that had an issue when he installed a new GPU...going into the Nvidia control panel works very well. He didn't have the same problem, but it fixed his problem so hopefully it does the same for you.

I've tried alot of things in Nvidia control panel but still understand whats wrong? Is it because I connect my monitor to the Gpu? ._. not really sure

Well you're suppose to connect your monitor with your GPU.

Maybe a setting in your monitor changed?

Actually in windows it's called adaptive brightness, in advanced settings of plan in power options. Click "Display" > 2nd Option is "Enable Adaptive Brightness" , disable it. Generally it is disabled by default so might not work.

well its seems that my computer does not support adaptive brightness .....

Still dont know what's happening, what if i hook my monitor to the d-sub port on my motherboard? will it work? ...

no. that ports for if you are using integrated graphics. I mean you could always try and use an igpu and see if the same glitch occurs?

Hi All,

I'm actually having the same issue as AlanChee.  Adaptive brightness settings are turned off in my display settings, but when I play games (most annoying is ksp since there's the blackness of space to deal with) the display will still dim.  I switch motherboard settings to igfx and confirmed that integrated graphics is behaving similarly.  Computer specs below (I'm using an HDMI cable btw):

Edit: The really odd part is that this seems to have happened within the last couple months.  Rolling back my graphics driver to a version before this started has not helped.

Intel i5-6600K

Asus Z170-A motherboard

XFX R9 390 graphics

samsung 850 evo 500GB hard drive
