Red and Black RX 480 Budget Build

This is my first custom PC and I'm building on a budget

The build should be 700 dollars plus or minus 10 or so dollars

I would prefer this build to keep a red and black ascetic

I will be using this build for gaming, schoolwork, and editing/rendering

Any suggestions are great and appreciated!! :D

I would take the fans off of the budget.

Here's my changes.

I got a bigger SSD, changed the PSU to a better one for the same price, and I took off the fans. It's just a bit more expensive, but I would get this over yours. At the very least change your power supply to the one I listed, the old CX series isn't very good.

Also, expect the third-party RX 480's to be more than $200 USD at launch. Don't plan around them being guaranteed $200.

I used to be quite active here.

Just like the 1080's it would be wise to wait before doing too much planning with the RX 480. The benchmarks aren't out and we don't know its details.

AMD has a tendency of acting all high and mighty but sometimes their cards don't live up to the standards they try and set.

When these benchmarks are released and if they aren't what they say they are what card would you suggest instead?

That's a tough one that I have to admit is hard to judge. It is just kind of a waiting game.

Are you referring to price drops and stuff like that with the R9 380's and 390's etc.

I doubt those cards will  have a significant price drop right away as they are still pretty good and new... My 270X is only $50 less new now... and its been out for at least 2 years or more.

When new products are right around the corner it is kind of always a good idea to hold off until you know what you are getting at the price.

Waiting and saving money are always good practices in building a computer... Rushed builds... like my first end up making you spend more money.

Know exactly what that looks like and results and don't want to happen again
