What SSD can I buy that is compatible with this motherboard?

Hi I've just purchased the Z170A SLI plus (https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/Z170A-SLI-PLUS.html#hero-specification) for my first gaming PC build. I'm looking to purchase an SSD but I'm fairly new to all the technical specifications and what they mean and I don't want to purchase something that is incompatible. I know the mobo says it supports 4.2cm/6cm/8cm length M.2 SSDs. I'm looking for a 240gb drive for under $100 if possible. I'm not sure if this is a reasonable price mark for a 240gb drive and I'm not sure what brands make the "best" drives. I will most likely only put my OS and a few games on it. Thanks in advance.

if you want something cheaper you should go with a sata ssd (like a hard drive but smaller and way faster) http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U?ie=UTF8&keywords=ssd&qid=1465437270&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

@21rkosta does M.2 refer to sata 2? The drive you posted is sata 3 so will it be compatible?

no its kinda complicated actualy, m.2 is like a small pci-e port where you plug in ssds (faster than traditional ssds/sata ssds)

every single motherboard made in the last like 10 years is compatible with sata/traditional ssds because they use the same ports as hdds

Ahh so this mobo could potentially utilize the M.2 port if the SSD offered it, but it isn't required? I could just go use the normal SATA port for any SSD.
